Seipasa, a company specialized in the formulation, development and marketing of botanical and microbiological-based solutions (biopesticides, biostimulants and fertilizers) for agriculture, sponsored the 19th edition of Ecoracimo<\/a>, the International Competition for Organic Wines<\/strong>. The event was held last weekend in the Castle of Montilla (Cordoba) under the organization of Ecovalia<\/a>, Cordoba\u2019s Provincial Council<\/a> and the City Council of Montilla<\/a>, in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture of the Junta de Andalucia<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A panel of prestigious tasters specialized in organic wines analysed the colour, intensity, flavor and persistence, among other qualities, of the 200 samples submitted. In the case of the Spanish wineries, the majority of the participating samples came from Castilla La Mancha (the largest producer of organic grapes in Spain), followed by Valencia, Andalusia, Aragon and Catalonia.<\/strong> Concerning the international competitors, the presence of wines from French wineries was numerous.<\/p>\n

Pita wine, from Bodegas Verderrub\u00ed<\/a>, (Verdejo with 8 months of maturation, D.O. Rueda) received the Special Prize of of Cordoba\u2019s Provincial Council, the highest recognition from Ecoracimo 2018.<\/strong> In addition to this award, two other wines were awarded as `Ecoracimo Gran Oro’: the wine Lezaun Tempranillo, from Bodegas Lezaun<\/a>; and Ereso, from Can Rich de Buscatell<\/a>. Also 25 ‘Ecoracimo Oro\u2019 and 19 \u2018Ecoracimo Plata\u2019 were given. A complete list of the winners can be found here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A strong commitment to the organic wine sector<\/h2>\n

The CMO of Seipasa, Juan Manuel L\u00f3pez, highlighted the great level of excellence exhibited by the wineries participating in this XIX edition of Ecoracimo and remarked Seipasa’s commitment<\/a> to the organic wine sector. “At Seipasa we want to be very close to the farmers and wineries producing certified organic wines. The sector is experiencing an excellent moment thanks to the investment and effort of many of the wineries that have been present in this edition of Ecoracimo<\/strong>. We want to help them to continue growing and to contribute to their promotion in the most demanding markets”.<\/p>\n
