Seipasa, the Spanish company specializing in the development and formulation of biopesticides, biostimulants and fertilizers for agriculture, joined the seminar on Healthy Stone Fruit With Zero Residues <\/a>organized by Zerya <\/a>in Fraga, Huesca (Spain). The session brought together more than 150 people and was attended by different specialists within the agrifood chain<\/strong>, from the production and management of agricultural inputs to distribution to the end customer.<\/p>\n

Seipasa’s Chief Technical Officer, Javier N\u00e1cher, presented a paper on new solutions for the management of diseases without pesticides in stone fruit<\/strong>. N\u00e1cher referred to the changes in production strategies and to the ever-increasing demands of national and international markets, which lead to a reduction in the active ingredients available.<\/p>\n

Seipasa’s Chief Technical Officer highlighted the company’s more than 20 years of experience in developing solutions capable of producing food free of pesticides. On this point, N\u00e1cher insisted on IPM (Integrated Pest Management) strategies, which consist of the combination of biological and chemical treatments<\/strong>, so that the application of synthetic phytosanitary products is reduced to the minimum possible.<\/p>\n

Javier N\u00e1cher assured that the application of zero residue strategies in stone fruit provides healthy, more productive and earlier harvests, as well as increasing the shelf life of the fruits<\/strong>. Seipasa’s Chief Technical Officer also referred to the specific case of the biopesticide Septum and provided data on its efficacy against peach leaf curl.<\/p>\n

Greater citizen awareness<\/h2>\n

The presentation of the session was given by the operations manager of Zerya, the organizer of the event. Javier Arizmendi said that citizens are increasingly aware about the conditions of the food they eat. That implies, he said, an increase in concern about the treatments applied to crops and how to ensure that the final product is free of residues.<\/strong><\/p>\n
