Seipasa, the Spanish company specialised in the development and formulation of biopesticides, biostimulants and fertilizers for agriculture, and Fitesa<\/a>, the firm specialising in the sale of plant protection products, special fertilizers, \u00a0seeds for agriculture, organic products and zero-residue products, have joined forces to carry out the donation of more than 3,000 kilos of vegetables that will go to families and groups of people most affected by the Covid-19 crisis.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The aid has begun to be distributed through C\u00e1ritas Nazarena and the charitable organisation of the RGB Foundation<\/a>. <\/strong>To guarantee a steady flow of these food products through the aid channels the donation has been split into four loads of 800 kilos per week. The second of the consignments was delivered on Thursday and there will be a further two deliveries over the next fortnight. The food donated included zero-residue vegetables such as peppers, tomatoes, carrots, onions, garlic, zucchini, potatoes, leeks or table beets.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sherryquality, Hort\u00edcola Flora, Cooperativa Frusana, Cooperativa Virgen del Roc\u00edo and other clients have also collaborated in this action.<\/p>\n

Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Dom\u00ednguez, Seipasa’s Sales Manager in western Andalusia highlighted, in particular, the company’s commitment with groups of people who have been hardest hit by the social and economic crisis caused by the pandemic.<\/p>\n

“Just over a month ago we started off with our first consignment in C\u00f3rdoba and Huelva, which we are now repeating in Jerez and after this we will be delivering aid to other zones. We want to reach out to those who are having a hard time and this is why we really appreciate the support of firms like Fitesa<\/strong>; in addition to being the distributor for our products in C\u00e1diz, they have helped us to get this socially-committed project off the \u00a0ground” Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Dom\u00ednguez commented.<\/p>\n

According to Urbano Herrero, Managing Director of Fitesa, the exemplary reaction of the agricultural sector when the pandemic was at its height must continue in order to respond to what is now a widespread social emergency.<\/p>\n

“During the grimmest weeks of Covid-19 there was no shortage of food supplies in markets thanks to the enormous effect of all those working in the primary sector. We claimed our key role in society and now it’s time to continue helping out from a different angle<\/strong>. It is dramatic to see the queues that from at food banks or aid organisations. There are many families in need but there are also many companies willing to do their bit”, Urbano Herrero emphasised.<\/p>\n

Charitable joint action with the food banks of C\u00f3rdoba and Huelva<\/h2>\n

At the beginning of May Seipasa donated 2 tonnes of organic strawberries and zero-residue vegetables to the food banks of C\u00f3rdoba and Huelva<\/a><\/strong>. Seipasa has also participated in the donation of face masks for more than 100,000 workers who are working in seasonal fruit picking campaigns. This \u00a0initiative was promoted by AEFA, the Spanish \u00a0Agricultural Nutrients Manufacturers Association, of which Seipasa is a member.<\/p>\n
