Seipasa, a Spanish company specialising in the development and manufacture of bio-phytosanitary products and biostimulants for agriculture, based in l'Alcúdia (Valencia), has obtained new phytosanitary registrations for the biofungicide Fungisei in Italy, Greece, Croatia, Cyprus and Bulgaria, and for the bioinsecticide Pirecris in Croatia. These are highly representative products from Seipasa’s internationally renowned portfolio which will now be available in these European markets.
Fungisei is a new generation microbiological fungicide offering maximum protection and efficacy against diseases such as powdery mildew, downy mildew, botrytis and soil diseases in crops such as strawberry, blueberry, melon, watermelon, cucumber, tomato, pepper and aubergine. The registrations in Italy, Greece, Croatia, Cyprus and Bulgaria join those already granted in Spain, Portugal, France, Turkey, Mexico, USA, Peru, Ecuador, Morocco, Tunisia and Ivory Coast.
According to Ricard Brossa, business development manager for Europe, “Fungisei is a well-established tool for its efficacy and sustainability, qualified as low risk by the EU. It also stands out for its versatility and the ease of use of its liquid formulation. All these features make it a very useful and profitable product for the farmer.”
“Fungisei - continues Brossa - has been used for years in many regions with advanced agriculture in different countries and crops on several continents. We have a great knowledge of the product in very different scenarios, conditions and crops, which allows us a process of continuous improvement. This is a valuable alternative to the gradual disappearance of chemical synthesis products.
Pirecris is a bioinsecticide developed by Seipasa that provides a powerful shock effect against thrips, aphids and whiteflies, among other insects. The product acts on the eggs and larvae, resulting in a very significant reduction in the number of new generations.
Pirecris is based on an exclusive formulation, thanks to the perfect balance between the PI and PII molecules that make up the active ingredient, providing maximum insecticidal efficacy in both field and greenhouse crops. The micro-molecules in its formulation condense to form a stable, balanced network throughout the solution, ensuring perfect coverage of the leaf and insect. Pirecris breaks down quickly and has a short safety period. It is an ideal tool for use in integrated pest management programmes. With the registration in Croatia, Pirecris now has phytosanitary registrations in 14 countries on four continents.
Phytosanitary registrations
For José Ángel Talavera, commercial director of Seipasa, these new registrations confirm the company’s commitment to increasing the number of countries where its natural phytosanitary solutions are available, adapted to the new regulatory frameworks.
“We have been working hard for many years to obtain phytosanitary registrations for our natural products in an impressive list of countries. This arduous task makes our biofungicides and bioinsecticides available in more and more markets and to growing numbers of farmers, as is the case with these six new registrations we are now presenting, which strengthens our position in such demanding markets as the European ones.”
