Seipasa, the Spanish company specialised in the development and formulation of bioinsecticides, biofungicides and biostimulants for agriculture, has taken part in the development and production of Tío Pepe's first organic must in a project led by Fitesa.
Based on our Natural Technology model, Seipasa's products have formed part of the treatments that González Byass has applied in the development of its first organic must.
Viña Dulce Nombre, a vineyard with organic agriculture certification, planted with the Palomino Fino variety and located in Pago de Carrascal, has been chosen for the production of this wine, which González Byass expects to launch in a few years’ time.
As the winery highlighted in a recent press release, the grapes harvested this season provide us with the first must for an organic solera sherry. This is an important milestone in the process that González Byass embarked upon in 2017, the year when the conversion process of Viña Dulce Nombre was started.
This transformative project has been led by Fitesa, which specialises in the distribution of phytosanitary products in the province of Cádiz, and it has consisted of the application of Seipasa's Natural Technology products under the G2FM (Global Farm Fitesa Management) protocol based on the company’s extensive experience and knowledge of solutions free of chemical residues, obtaining exceptional results in the treatment of crops with certified organic products.
José María Domínguez, Seipasa's Sales Area Manager, expressed his satisfaction at the confidence that González Byass has placed in Seipasa.
"We are delighted to contribute with our experience and knowledge to this commitment to organic wine by González Byass, an outstanding reference in the winemaking world. We accompany our customers and provide our Natural Technology model to stimulate their vines and protect them from pests and diseases, this way contributing to the production of top-quality wines", Mr Domínguez stressed.
The first Tío Pepe organic grape must was presented on 30th November, Saint Andrew's Day, when, according to the famous popular Spanish saying "Para San Andrés el mosto vino es", (By Saint Andrew’s Day, grape must is wine). The venue was at Viña la Canariera, in Cádiz, at a meeting attended by oenologists, winegrowers and media representatives.
