Seipasa, a Spanish company specialising in the development, formulation and production of bioinsecticides, biofungicides, biostimulants and nutritional treatments for agriculture, has collaborated with Acopinb in the production of its organic extra virgin olive oil. Acopinb is the association for the integration of young people with intellectual disabilities that has launched this initiative for charity with the aim of raising funds to finance part of the projects it develops in Cordoba, Spain.
The oil is part of the Alimenta Corazones (Nourish Hearts) project promoted by Acopinb at its El Aguilarejo farm in Córdoba, where a group of young people with intellectual disabilities work and receive training. Seipasa has provided the cultivation strategies and the products used to treat the 750 Hojiblanca olive trees in production.
The result is a limited edition organic extra virgin olive oil, of which around 500 bottles have been released for sale. The product is being distributed at charity markets in Córdoba. Last weekend, Acopinb participated in the San Hipólito charity market, and on 16 December they will distribute it at their headquarters in Calle Sagunto in Córdoba. The solidarity oil is also sold directly at Acopinb’s headquarters and on its website.
José María Domínguez, Seipasa’s delegate in Western Andalusia and responsible for the collaboration that the company is developing with Acopinb on its farm and in its organic garden, has highlighted the social and charitable nature of this initiative.
“The most valuable things that Seipasa has contributed are desire, heart and enthusiasm. We like to think that part of our work contributes to social development, training in organic farming and the social and socio-occupational integration of young people with intellectual disabilities. The aim of our CSR policy, as described in our Natural Technology model, is to promote healthy, chemical-free food from sustainable, rational and humane agriculture. We have found that this collaboration with Acopinb represents all of this,” says Domínguez.
Opportunities for socio-occupational integration
Charo Carmona, director of Acopinb, explained that this collaboration has allowed them to improve the quality of the production of organic extra virgin olive oil thanks to the treatments and natural products that Seipasa has provided. “We have developed a valuable initiative that has a positive impact on the community, the environment and, above all, on the creation of new opportunities for people with disabilities".
“This support for our work,” added Charo Carmona, “has strengthened our conviction that by working together we can make significant changes to improve the lives of people with intellectual disabilities and create a lasting positive impact.
The director of Acopinb also wanted to thank José María Domínguez for his sincere affection, dedication and personal commitment to the young people at the centre.
Acopinb is developing a social and organic farming project at El Aguilarejo farm in Córdoba, which dedicated to the training and social and occupational integration of people with intellectual disabilities through organic farming. Seipasa has been collaborating with the organisation since 2018 by providing products and cultivation strategies, as well as training the young people who participate on the farm and in the organic garden.
