Seipasa, the Spanish company specialised in the development, formulation and production of bioinsecticides, biofungicides, biostimulants and fertilizers, has recently concluded its participation in the second Agrovid show devoted to vine-growing, held from 22nd to 24th March, in Valladolid. The company was present at the event alongside Agrosenara, its partner specialising in distribution and assessment of technologically based agricultural treatments.
Seipasa presented its new catalogue for vine growing, developed in line with its Natural Technology model. The catalogue features its Pirecris bioinsecticde whose label has recently been extended to include control of Cicadellidae on grapevines, making it a powerful tool for shock treatments in this recently initiated growing season.
Raúl Lozano, Seipasa's sales representative for the north-eastern area of Spain, underlined the extremely high rates of effectiveness of this bioinsecticide for pest control, and went on to add that “Pirecris is a new solution that we have just added to our grapevine catalogue following the extension of its phytosanitary registration. This is a product that rapidly reduces pest populations and leaves no residues on grapes, which means that it can be applied very close to harvesting. It is certified for organic agriculture under the UNE standard and for this reason is increasingly used by wineries that operate these production lines".
Septum: preventive and curative action against downy mildew and powdery mildew
Seipasa's sales representative for the north-eastern area also talked about other products, such as Septum: "We have had a lot of rain at the start of spring. If this damp weather continues and temperatures get milder it is highly likely that the conditions this season will be conducive to downy mildew disease, as occurred in 2020".
Raúl Lozano referred to Septum as a well-consolidated tool in the company's catalogue of products for controlling downy mildew and powdery mildew of the grapevine: "Septum is a natural solution with a fungicidal action that epitomises our Natural Technology model. We know everything about Septum thanks to the research project undertaken in collaboration with the Centre for Plant Biotechnology and Genomics (CBGP) of the Polytechnic University of Madrid which has enabled us to obtain an extensive map of its molecular composition, and of all of the natural active substances it comprises, in order to delve deeper into its action of defence and control of pathogens".
For her part, Vanessa Garrido, Seipasa’s Marketing Manager, expressed her satisfaction at the outcome of the show and the company's joint participation with Agrosenara.
"Agrovid has helped us to get off to a flying start at the beginning of the vine-growing season. Our presence here alongside the members of Agrosenara’s team has allowed us to consolidate all of the projects and values that we have in common, and which are precisely centred on innovation in vine growing based on the application of natural, highly technical solutions", Ms. Garrido went on to emphasise.
Agrovid, in which more than 160 companies participated, also set aside space for innovation at its Agrotechnology forum, that featured technical discussion panels and papers.
