Seipasa, a Spanish company specialising in the development, formulation and production of bioinsecticides, biofungicides, biostimulants and nutritional treatments for agriculture, has announced its entry into the Guatemalan market with the official launch of its product catalogue. This milestone marks the start of its commercial operations in the country, in collaboration with Agrovalsa, its official distributor in Guatemala.
The event, attended by a large number of professional farmers and specialised technicians, focused on the references in Seipasa’s bioprotection and biostimulation catalogue, which has just received phytosanitary registration from the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food (MAGA). The registration certifies its introduction to the Guatemalan agricultural market with all the conditions of credibility, trust and security that this official certification confers.
“We know that it is difficult to register with MAGA, but at Seipasa we did not start this official presentation until we had the official registration. We did not want to do this until we had the official approval of the Ministry. This is our way of working: to enter a new market, get to know it, carry out the work that allows us to register our products and present ourselves to the market with the guarantee of quality and confidence that comes with phytosanitary registration,” said Pedro Peleato, CEO of Seipasa.
Seipasa’s new portfolio in Guatemala includes references such as Kynetic4, Bryosei and Melisei, as well as bioprotection solutions with an extensive international presence such as Pirecris and Seican.
A strategic alliance to transform agriculture in Guatemala
Agrovalsa is a distributor with more than 10 years’ experience in the Guatemalan market, focused on providing sustainable solutions and innovative tools for agricultural development. Commenting on the alliance, Agrovalsa’s senior commercial manager, Marvin Valdez, highlighted the company’s commitment to approaching the market with a catalogue focused on the production of high quality fruit, vegetables and cereals, free from chemical residues.
“It is important for everyone to have more and more sustainable production alternatives for the health of our customers and the export market. There are many restrictive situations on the part of the different markets and countries that force us to evolve,” Valdez points out.
Products tailored to local needs
Seipasa’s catalogue is designed to meet the specific needs of the Guatemalan agricultural model, which has similarities to the Mexican market. “Our products have already proven their effectiveness in traditional and export crops, so we are confident that they will be a key tool for the growth of the sector in Guatemala and a starting point for our expansion in Central America,” says Peleato.
Future goals
Seipasa arrives in Guatemala with a vision to position itself as a leader in the development of bioprotection and biostimulation solutions and treatments for agriculture. “Our main goal is to be the market leader in these types of solutions for traditional and export crops, promoting a sustainable and high-yielding agricultural model,” concludes Peleato.
With this alliance, Seipasa and Agrovalsa aim not only to strengthen Guatemalan agriculture, but also to consolidate a business model based on sustainability and innovation.
