Seipasa, a Spanish company specialized in the development, formulation and manufacture of bioinsecticides, biofungicides, biostimulants and fertilizers, has unveiled the microbiological fungicide Fungisei in the main fruit, vegetable and grape growing areas of Portugal.
The company has concluded the series of technical launch days held over the last week in the cities of Almeirim, Marteleira, Cantanhede and Póvoa de Varzim. The sessions brought together production managers, technical advisors and farmers, who learned first-hand about the keys to the biofungicide that Seipasa has just launched in Portugal after obtaining phytosanitary registration.
In addition to Portugal, Fungisei is already registered in Mexico, the United States, Peru, France, Turkey, Morocco and Ivory Coast.
Fungisei is a microbiological fungicide for the control of diseases such as botrytis, downy mildew and powdery mildew on a wide variety of crops. This is an internationally recognized product, developed from a Bacillus subtilis strain of high efficacy and purity, and whose formulation is patented by Seipasa.
The key to Fungisei’s action lies precisely in its exclusive formulation, which protects the microbial stability of the active ingredient, guarantees its conservation capacity and provides very high efficacy in the field. All this in a liquid formulation free of chemical preservatives.
High added value biofungicide
Marta Muñoz, Seipasa’s Product Development Manager, was in charge of directing and giving the technical presentation sessions.
“We are very pleased with the response Fungisei has received at these presentation sessions. Over the last week we have travelled more than 1,300 km to provide farmers in Portugal with a new tool with high value-added in disease control,” said Ms. Muñoz.
“Fungisei - added Marta Muñoz - is a proven product in the most demanding agricultural systems in the world. At Seipasa we have in-depth knowledge of the product, its effectiveness in the field and the results we obtain through its application”.
Seipasa’s Product Development Manager added that the aim of these presentation sessions was “to highlight all the strategies and experiences in the use of the product adapted to specific crops and realities that farmers in Portugal will encounter on a daily basis”.
On this technical tour, Marta Muñoz and the Seipasa team were accompanied by Luis Vaz, technical director of Jovagro, a consultancy company and distributor of Seipasa products in Portugal.
