Seican is a new fungicide and insecticide for pest and disease control. Based on cinnamaldehyde, Seican is designed to control powdery mildew, rust, botrytis, and scales. Seican is a fast-acting product that achieves good control at low concentrations. It is compatible with biological control agents.
Used as a fungicide, Seican provides curative action: Cinnamic aldehyde inhibits mycelium growth and prevents the germination of fruiting bodies. The result is the eradication of the fungus, preventing its spread.
Through its eradicant action, Seican affects mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation and induces profound changes in the enzymatic activity of the pathogen’s cell membrane, leading to its dehydration and, therefore, the disappearance of foliar symptoms.
Used as an insecticide, Seican acts by contact, penetrating and destroying susceptible soft body parts. Insects are exposed to the loss of body fluids, causing dehydration and, consequently, death. It is an alternative to mineral oils and chemical acaricides.
